Resumo
A Amazônia, responsabilizada por 75% das emissões de gases de efeito estufa através do desmatamento em seu território, tem sido foco das atenções da mídia e dos pesquisadores. Conseqüentemente, tem se buscado o grande vilão pelo desmatamento. Este estudo procura mostrar, de forma inicial, que não há um grande responsável pelo desmatamento na Amazônia, e sim um conjunto de fatores, de fundo social, econômico e até cultural, que formam um sistema complexo a ser entendido, para então buscar soluções para o desmatamento.
Em mostra de algumas soluções tomadas pela iniciativa privada e pública, este trabalho estuda o Fundo Amazônia, e ações de empresas do segmento madeireiro no estado do Pará, sendo o Grupo Orsa e o Grupo Cikel. Estes exemplos mostram o quanto ações na área de pesquisa quanto na área social podem reduzir o desmatamento, criando alternativas viáveis de geração de renda e produção para as populações locais.
Abstract
The Amazon, responsible for 75% of emissions of greenhouse gases through deforestation in its territory, has been the focus of the media and researchers. Consequently, it has sought the great villain by deforestation. This study attempts to show, so original, that there is not a great responsible for deforestation in the Amazon, but a number of factors, to fund social, economic and even cultural, which form a complex system to be understood, then seek solutions to the deforestation.
In shows of some solutions initiative taken by private and public, this work has studied the Amazon Fund, and shares of companies in the segment timber in the state of Para, with the Orsa Group and the Cikel Group. These examples show how actions in the field of search as in the social area can reduce the deforestation, creating viable alternatives to generate income and production for local populations.
