Conhecer para Conservar – Museu da Amazônia (MUSA)

Resumo

O Fundo Amazônia tem como finalidade o combate ao desmatamento das florestas na Amazônia. Dentre os projetos financiados pelo Fundo, o presente estudo tem como objeto de pesquisa o projeto “Conhecer para Conservar” cuja instituição proponente é o Museu da Amazônia (MUSA), sendo o Prof. Ennio Candotti o seu diretor-geral e também redator da proposta encaminhada ao BNDES.

A verba destinada a ele é de R$ 8.454.421,00 e desse valor 68% já foi liberado. A proposta é, através da visitação, estimular o conhecimento pelo encantamento causado pelo museu. Com a geração do conhecimento, mostrar que a floresta em pé vale mais do que o hectare dela nua ou mesmo com soja, gado e com isso combater o desmatamento. Ainda não se pode medir se o proposto pelo projeto foi alcançado, pois o museu ainda não está aberto à visitação e uma das causas que impede essa abertura é o fato do museu estar localizado na Reserva Ducke na zona leste da cidade de Manaus, local este de grande periculosidade. A recomendação dada após o estudo, é a busca de parcerias com o poder público para que seja sanado o déficit de segurança no entorno do museu.

Abstract

The Amazon Fund aims to combat deforestation in the Amazon. Among the projects financed by the Fund, the present study as a research project “Learning to Conserve” whose proponent institution is the Museum of the Amazon (MUSA), and its Director General and also editor of the proposal submitted to BNDES Prof. Ennio Candotti. The amount allocated to it is R $ 8,454,421.00 and 68% of this amount has already been released. The purpose of the museum is through visitation, foster knowledge by enchantment caused by the museum. With the generation of knowledge, to show that standing forest is worth more than a hectare of her naked or even with soybeans, cattle and thereby combat deforestation. Still cannot measure whether the proposed project was achieved because the museum is not yet open for visitors and one of the reasons that prevents this opening is the fact that the museum be located in the Ducke Reserve in the eastern city of Manaus, the place highly dangerous. The recommendation given after the study, is seeking partnerships with the government to be remedied the shortfall security surrounding the museum.
