Resumo
O ensaio tem por finalidade analisar em que medida o projeto “Disseminação e Aprimoramento das Técnicas de Manejo Florestal Sustentável”, executado pelo Instituto Floresta Tropical (IFT), pode contribuir para a redução do desflorestamento irregular na região, dentro dos princípios do Fundo Amazônia, seu fomentador. Em específico, analisar-se-á a relação entre o desenvolvimento do projeto e a melhora qualitativa sobre os modelos produtivos de exploração madeireira na região, para aumentar a produtividade e oportunidades para populações locais sob uma perspectiva sustentável, sobretudo no que tange à redução das emissões de carbono. Com o estudo, poderão ser mensurados aspectos positivos e controversos do projeto e da atuação do órgão gestor do Fundo Amazônia, para aprimoramento e melhor alcance das metas fixadas.
Abstract
The study aims to analyze to what extent the project “Dissemination and Improvement Techniques for Sustainable Forest Management”, run by the Instituto Floresta Tropical (IFT), can contribute to the reduction of irregular deforestation in the region, within the principles of the Amazon Fund its developers. In particular, it will examine the relationship between project development and qualitative improvement of production models of logging in the region, to increase productivity and opportunities for local populations in an sustainable perspective, especially with regard to reducing emissions of carbon. With this study, positives and controversial design may be measured and performance of the management body of the Amazon Fund, to improve and better achieve the goals set.
