Nos últimos anos o Brasil passou por ganhos, mas também por reduções florestais, demonstrando a necessidade de fortalecer ações no combate ao desmatamento e promoção de restauração florestal. O objetivo 15 dos ODS trata das metas relacionadas a proteger, recuperar e promover uso sustentável dos ecossistemas terrestres, gerir de forma sustentável as florestas, combater a desertificação, deter e reverter a degradação da terra e deter a perda de biodiversidade. Entre as metas está a 15.2, que visa promover a implementação da gestão sustentável de todos os tipos de florestas, deter o desmatamento, restaurar florestas degradadas e aumentar o florestamento e o reflorestamento globalmente até 2020. Para auxiliar no cumprimento dessas metas o Brasil estabeleceu em sua NDC a métrica de restaurar e reflorestar 12 milhões de hectares de florestas para múltiplos usos até 2030. Para tanto, irá contar com apoio financeiro internacional proveniente de acordo estabelecido com a Alemanha. Empresas, como a Suzano Papel e Celulose, estão adotando estratégias que podem contribuir significativamente no atingimento das métricas estipuladas, como a criação de Unidades de Conservação, que além de contribuir para os objetivos a longo prazo, também podem beneficiar as empresas, caso projetos de lei que modificam o SNUC sejam aprovados.

Abstract:
In recent years Brazil has experienced gains but also forest reductions, demonstrating the need to strengthen actions to combat deforestation and forest restoration. The objective 15 of the SDG proposes targets to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage the forests, combating desertification, stop and reverse land degradation and halt the loss of biodiversity. The target 15.2 aims to promote the implementation of sustainable management of all types of forests, stop deforestation, restore degraded forests and increase afforestation and reforestation globally by 2020. In order to achieve these goals Brazil established in its NDC metric to restore and reforest 12 million hectares of forests for multiple uses by 2030 and will rely on support from international financial agreement established with Germany. Companies like Suzano Papel e Celulose, are adopting strategies that can significantly contribute to the achievement of stipulated metrics, such as the creation of protected areas, as well as contributing to the metric in the long term can also benefit businesses if project of bills that modify the SNUC are approved.
